Job Description

This position is for a Special Education Teacher specializing in Autism to cover a maternity leave at a middle school in Flemington, NJ. The role requires working with students in grades 6 through 8, providing specialized instruction and support tailored to individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with autism in grades 6-8
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure student success
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and team members

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with Autism Specialist credentials
• Experience working with middle school students in special education settings
• Ability to manage a caseload of students with varying needs from 6th to 8th grade
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
