About the Role

The Company is seeking a Group Chief Medical Officer to serve as the Senior Executive Clinical Leader for a grouping of hospitals. The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful operation of medical staff functions, continuous improvement in safety and quality, and will be committed to the mission of service and the enhancement of patient clinical outcomes. This role involves acting as a liaison and resource for medical staff engagement, quality, patient safety, and experience, as well as streamlining clinical processes. The Group CMO will also be a change agent leader, driving transformative initiatives across multiple hospital sites and fostering a culture of adaptability, innovation, and evidence-based practices. Candidates for the Group Chief Medical Officer position must have an M.D. or D.O. degree, with an MBA or other advanced management degree preferred, and certification by one of the Boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties. The role requires a demonstrated track record of superior performance in physician leadership, with a background ideally in a health system or major medical group recognized for clinical excellence. Business skills in planning, financial management, and healthcare economics are essential, as are clinical leadership skills in quality and utilization management. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of and experience with performance improvement and quality management programs, and be a results-driven leader with strong strategic planning and communication skills. Personal attributes should include high integrity, a commitment to the highest quality of patient care, and the ability to inspire confidence and establish a common vision among the medical staff.
