What You Can Expect ENGIE is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our accounting team. The internship work term will be from January 2025 - May 2025, full-time/par-time work schedule working up to 40 hours per week.
As the intern in Houston, you will assist in the mapping process and gain hands-on experience in month-end closing activities and key accounting principles. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in accounting and finance.
- Support the accounting team in month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries
- Assist in the mapping process to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Learn and apply key accounting principles and practices
- Help assist in prepare financial statements and reports
- Participate in audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for analysis
- Review Balance sheet reconciliation and prepare summary of risk
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager

What You'll Bring - Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Additional Details - You will work at Houston office with a hybrid schedule
- This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation Hourly Range: $21.00 - $34.00 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
