Pharmacy Technician - Outpatient Job Description

Position Overview:
We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician - Outpatient to support our pharmacy operations by assisting in prescription processing, medication dispensing, and customer service. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience working in an outpatient or retail pharmacy setting.



Key Responsibilities:

• Process and fill outpatient prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Verify patient information and prescription details for accuracy.
• Assist customers with prescription pick-ups, refills, and inquiries.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers to clarify prescription information.
• Handle insurance claims and resolve billing issues.
• Maintain accurate medication inventory and restock supplies as needed.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) preferred.
• Prior experience in an outpatient, retail, or hospital pharmacy setting is a plus.
• Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and prescription processing.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
