2024 season starts April first and Union Market is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Market Associate. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and success of our market by providing exceptional customer experience and service. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced retail market, gaining experience to various aspects of the business.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers, provide product recommendations, and ensure a positive shopping experience
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems
• Monitor inventory levels and restock product as it is delivered and requires replenishment.
• Maintain a clean and organized market environment by implementing proper sanitation practices
• Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of market displays and promotional events

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of fruits and vegetables and our other products we sell
• Proven experience in providing exceptional customer service

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to efficiently and accurately operate point-of-sale systems
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
• Please note: Reading, writing and the use of basic technology is a key part of our daily operations.
