Job Title: Phlebotomist I

Location: Plantation, FL
Duration: 4+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Start 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, then 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM after training; every Saturday 6:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Position Overview:

The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the face of the organization, providing high-quality specimen collection and patient care. This role involves drawing blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring compliance with established safety and procedural standards. The ideal candidate will deliver compassionate service, maintain accuracy, and uphold confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens skillfully and safely, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and create a comfortable experience for patients.
  • Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with HIP nd company standards.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Uphold organizational values and promote a positive image to patients and staff.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (mandatory in CA, NV, WA).
  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required; 1+ year preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in keyboard/data entry and familiarity with clinical workflows.
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality are mandatory; excessive absenteeism/tardiness will result in termination.
Additional Details:
  • Candidate must reside within 20-25 minutes commute of the worksite.
  • Protective gear required when handling specimens.
  • Must be available for scheduled shifts and maintain excellent attendance.
