Job Description Job Description Position Title: Production Employee Reports To: Production Supervisor Job Type: Full-Time / Hourly Location: Granite City, IL Position Summary The Production Employee plays a vital role in ensuring Baily International delivers consistent, high-quality products to our customers. This position works hands-on with raw materials, in-process items, or finished goods depending on assignment. Production Employees collaborate closely with Leads, Supervisors, and team members while following all safety, quality, and food-safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform assigned production tasks such as assembling, packing, weighing, inspecting, or handling products according to company standards. Follow all quality, safety, cGMP, and HACCP procedures at all times. Inspect products, materials, and containers to ensure specifications are met. Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas throughout the shift. Notify Leads, Supervisors, or Maintenance of any mechanical issues, safety concerns, or production abnormalities. Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and breakdowns as directed. Accurately count, measure, or weigh products as required for the job assignment. Operate or assist with production equipment such as conveyors, box erectors, tape dispensers, flow wraps, or other tools. Remove completed or defective items and place them in designated areas. Communicate effectively with team members and leadership regarding issues, improvements, or relevant production updates. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Skills and Competencies Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Quality-focused mindset with the ability to identify issues or inconsistencies. Basic communication, monitoring, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision when required. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous food production or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. Work Environment & Job Hazards Wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather). Extreme cold or hot temperatures (non-weather). Working near moving mechanical parts. Slippery or wet surfaces. Noise levels consistent with industrial food-production settings. Physical Demands Standing and walking for extended periods. Frequent use of hands to handle materials, tools, or equipment. Reaching with hands and arms. Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to maintain concentrated attention to detail for extended periods. Required PPE OSHA-approved safety footwear. Hair net and beard net in production areas. Company-provided smocks, gloves, and any other PPE as required. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. The standard production schedule for the Granite City facility is Monday through Thursday , with an occasional Friday scheduled based on production needs. No weekend work is required. Overtime may be required depending on production demand. Travel Travel is not required. Other Duties This job description is not intended to cover every task or responsibility.
