Job Description

Jill Howard Design Studio is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to work in our Charleston, SC office. The ideal candidate is collaborative, extremely organized, detail-oriented, and a self-motivated problem solver with a firm understanding of the design process from pre-construction to installation. Ability to initiate tasks and perform duties with little supervision is required. The Interior Designer reports directly to the Principal.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Principal in the Design Phase.
• Create interior architecture and cabinetry drawings using AutoCAD. 3D rendering or hand rendering skills a bonus.
• Source furniture, fixtures, and finishes for high-end residential projects under the guidance of the Principal.
• Work with Project Administrator who will place, manage and track orders.
• Create and manage ID schedules for construction projects.
• Coordinate with general contractors, fabricators, trades, and suppliers.
• Oversee and maintain project budgets and timelines.
• Review and edit drawing packages and shop drawings, as required.
• Review and approve invoices to be paid by Project Finance Administrator.
• Provide site checks for duration of project.
• Manage progress of work and job-site cohesiveness

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in interior design preferred but not required.
• Must have a minimum 3 years experience as an interior designer in residential design, including new construction projects (commercial experience is a bonus, but it is not required).
• Ability to create detailed interior architecture and cabinetry drawings required.
• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage and lead.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Google Workspace and Studio Designer.
• Must have a car and a valid driver’s license. MUST live in the Charleston, SC area.
