Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Transportation Broker to join our fast-paced brokerage team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in dry van truckload brokerage and be excited about the opportunity to expand services into LTL and intermodal markets. This role is responsible for sourcing freight, building carrier relationships, and ensuring successful shipment execution.
Key Responsibilities
· Source and secure freight opportunities through customer outreach and relationship development.
· Negotiate rates and lanes with shippers and carriers, ensuring profitability and service quality.
· Manage the lifecycle of each shipment from booking to delivery, maintaining strong communication throughout.
· Build and maintain a reliable carrier base with a focus on dry van capacity, while developing access to LTL and intermodal solutions.
· Monitor market conditions and lane rates to adjust pricing and optimize margins.
· Ensure compliance with all FMCSA, DOT, and company standards.
· Collaborate with sales and operations teams to develop multi-modal solutions for customers.
· Utilize TMS and tracking systems to ensure visibility and accuracy of all movements.
· Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
Must-Have Qualifications
· 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, preferably with a focus on dry van truckload
· Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
· Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and digital load boards
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment
· Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience
· Located in the United States
· Understanding of LTL and intermodal services and a desire to grow into those modes
