Planet Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Coldwater, Michigan.
Must be comfortable with taking pediatric patients as young as 1 year old (low acuity)

Patient Age Group: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
*May float to other units within RNs scope*
*Every other weekend*
*Small COMMUNITY facility with just ED MD coverage at night*
EMR Required: Epic
Provider Support: Interpretation Services, Pharmacy, Phlebotomy, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Rapid Response Team, Respiratory Services, Unit Secretary
Provider Coverage: NP, CRNA
Patient Diagnoses: General Medical and Surgical Care. Post operative care- orthopedic, pulmonary and general surgical cases. No drips on this unit other than Heparin may have tele- however we do have a monitor tech to watch these cases. Preoperative care occasionally.
Special Procedures/Unit Details: May have chest tubes and bedside procedures. Moderate sedation may be necessary occasionally, IV,s, Foleys, feeding tubes, IV umps, PCA occasionally, Fall alarms on beds.
Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
Work Settings Required: MS/Tele
Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response Required: Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry-remote monitoring
GI Required: Feeding tube care and management
IV therapy/Phlebotomy Required: Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Starting IVs
Medications Required: Heparin Protocols
Neuro/Psychiatric Required: CVA
Ortho Required: Peripheral nerve block catheters, Total Joint Replacements
Plastics Required: Surgical drains
Respiratory Required: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy Management
Professional Skills Required: Isolation Precautions, Wound care/wound vac
